Mental Health First Aid For Children; Support Processes; Assessments & Resources

A comprehensive overview related to how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This course gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to a youth who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. This course covers common signs and symptoms of mental illness, as well as substance use, how to interact with a person in crisis, and how to connect individuals with help. Each participant will receive a Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification

Process Addictions are addictions that do not involve a substance. The focus will be on defining, identifying, and diagnosing these problem behaviors, as well as effective treatment strategies. The seminar will also include the history of substances of abuse, and will focus on how these substances have been used throughout time.
