Dual Diagnosis, Evaluation and Treatment Strategies

It is estimated that 50-70% of all addicts have a co-occurring disorder.  Due to such high incidence, it is imperative that professionals become familiar with effective diagnostic and treatment protocol for these individuals.  Participants will learn how to complete an in-depth biopsychosocial assessment to evaluate for co-occurring diagnosis.  In addition, treatment strategies and protocols will be introduced, along with applied pharmacology and symptomology of individuals exhibiting co-occurring disorders.

This module is designed for those interested in opening their own treatment facility. Modalities of treatment reviewed include Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs. Participants will be introduced to various aspects of designing and evaluating substance abuse treatment programs in addition to administrative assets/aspects of managing such programs. HIPPA guidelines will be presented.
